Cochin City Center Campus

Munnar Catering College was established as a brand that would exclusively offer programs in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Tourism and Catering Technology. Cochin was chosen to be the second location for the college’s city campuses as it is the largest and the most populous metropolitan area in Kerala. Cochin ranks first in the total number of international and domestic tourist arrivals in Kerala and the city was ranked the sixth best tourist destination in India according to a survey conducted by the Nielsen Company on behalf of the Outlook Traveller magazine.


Over the years, the college has been affiliated to the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA); Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar; Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
In 2021 Munnar Catering College, Cochin was approved by CVESD (Council For Vocational Education & Skill Development), which is licensed from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India, as an ‘Authorized Affiliated Centre.’
In 2021, the college also signed an MOU for Academic Cooperation with HTMi Hotel and Tourism Management Institute, Switzerland.

Facilties

The college is very centrally located in the heart of Cochin city, in Ravipuram, MG Road, near the Cochin Shipyard. The campus has over 4600 sq ft of space and is only 2 km away from Ernakulam South Railway Station. The KSRTC Bus Station is right in front of the college. The facilities on campus include – spacious Classrooms, Library, Training Restaurant, Training Kitchen, Front Office Lab, Housekeeping Lab, Computer Lab etc.

Approvals and Affiliations

Munnar Catering College, Cochin is approved by CVESD (Council For Vocational Education & Skill Development), which is licensed from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India, as an ‘Authorized Affiliated Centre.’ With this affiliation, students pursuing a 1 Year Diploma in Professional Cookery, on successful completion, will get a Diploma Certificate from both Munnar Catering College and CVESD.
The college has also signed an MOU for Academic Cooperation with HTMi Hotel and Tourism Management Institute, Switzerland. Under this MOU, MCC students studying at all 3 campuses in India – Munnar, Cochin & Trivandrum – are eligible to be awarded Swiss Dual Diplomas and gain admission into exclusive pathway programs to convert their Diplomas into UK Degrees and Swiss Masters qualifications.

Hostel

The Cochin campus is a non-residential campus. We do not offer our own hostel facilities. However, the college can recommend affordable hostels and paying guest accommodation close to the college.

Discipline and Safety

SMOKING/DRUGS/ALCOHOL FREE CAMPUS

Munnar Catering College maintains a strict smoking, drugs and alcohol free campus. The college does not tolerate or condone the illegal use of drugs or alcohol, smoking, using tobacco or e-cigarette products by employees in the workplace, or by students on the campus including but not limited to its departments, offices, classrooms, common areas, open spaces, hostels etc. or at any college-sponsored events.

Ragging within the college campus including but not limited to its departments, offices, classrooms, common areas, open spaces, hostels etc. is strictly prohibited. Ragging in any form is prohibited inside or outside the campus.
